The Biceps Græcus Venerius graphic novel
The Biceps Græcus Venerius story has appeared for the first time in the form of a short story at the third part of A.M.’s novel The Beautiful Days of Benjamin Sanidopoulos and then for a second time (with some minor changes in its concept) it has reappeared in the collection of his short stories Sweet come back.
Never the less this pyramide-like hero under the homeric name of Halitherses Mastorides dates back to A.M.'s student days in Paris. There he was conceived for the first time as a cartoon icon, a symbolic one. For many years that queer hero acquired a central place in the young author's workshop since he produced a whole series of drawings, cartoons and even paintings with this motif (you can see below an example of old drawings that still survive – on wrinkled yellowish paper…).

As a comic hero Halitherses Mastorides made his first appearance in a series of twelve strips in a short-lived review Bismuthum (summer 1997, No 0, p. 40-41).
A.M., since some years now, works on that story again in a new concept in the form of a longer graphic novel. He certainly needs some time to finish it. Never the less, panels of the novel are from time to time exposed in various group exhibitions producing a somewhat peculiar visual effect.
